In Elizabethton’s 35-21 win, the senior racked up 367 total yards and scored five touchdowns. For his effort, he was named the Times News/Johnson City Press 5-star player of the week.
Russell moved to quarterback for a portion of the game because of injury to starter Carter Everett. He connected on 8 of 10 passes for 172 yards. At running back he had 20 carries for 83 yards. And as a receiver he totaled eight catches for 112 yards. He also had five touchdowns, 13 yards in kick returns and two tackles in the Cyclones’ 35-28 win.

The juke move was unnecessary for Cole, who simply trucked Science Hill for 321 yards on 26 carries and three touchdowns. He had scoring runs of 2, 85 and 80 yards with the last two each breaking a tie score in the second half of Boone’s 35-28 win.

Not only did the senior rush for 158 yards on 18 carries, he also set a school record with a 99-yard touchdown run just before halftime.
It was a defensive battle in the 8-7 win over rival Happy Valley, making the senior’s 171 yards rushing even more impressive. He also scored the lone touchdown.
David Crockett, LB
The Pioneers’ senior was a Hampton wrecking crew in his team’s 44-0 win over the Bulldogs. He had 10 tackles, with 4.5 tackles for loss, and had four catches for 74 yards as a tight end.
